There are many countries that ban declaw surgery in cats. Declawing is outlawed in the United Kingdom, much of the European Union, Australia, and at least ten other countries around the world. It is still legal to declaw a cat in most of the United States. While there are no U.S. states banning the practice of declawing, there are cities and towns throughout the country that have passed legislation banning declaw surgery.
